Add this year's running
Your race is the event that repeats — the name, the route, the character of it. Each year it actually runs is a separate thing, with its own date, its own entry details and its own results. Adding this year's running doesn't disturb last year's, so the old results stay put as an archive.
Adding it
- Open your race for editing (see Edit your race).
- Go to the Records & Results tab.
- Find the Date field and type the date this year's race is on. Type the digits straight in — day, then month, then year — rather than clicking the parts separately.
- The Year / name field fills itself in with the year as soon as you set the date. Leave it alone unless this running needs a name of its own, like 2026 Championship.
- Click Add instance.
You're taken straight to the new running's own page, ready to fill in the details.
Filling in the details
That page has three tabs of its own:
- Description — anything particular to this year: the start time, where to park, whether it's also a championship counter, changes to the route.
- Entries — how people enter, and the entry list once they have.
- Results — where you upload the finishers afterwards. See Publish results.
A running doesn't need to be complete to be useful. A date alone tells people the race is
happening, which is most of what they want to know in advance. Come back and add the rest.
Course records
Records live on the Records & Results tab of the race itself, not on any one year — they belong to the route rather than to a particular running. Add each one with the Add button, and edit or remove them individually with the buttons alongside.
